Compare 1oz Silver Prices

Live 1oz silver prices from trusted UK dealers — coins, rounds and bars at the most-traded silver weight. The 1oz format is the global silver pricing benchmark, with the deepest dealer support and tightest spreads.

Why 1oz dominates silver bullion

The troy ounce is the global pricing unit for silver, and 1oz coins are where the deepest dealer market and tightest premium competition sit. Most major bullion programmes — Britannia, Eagle, Maple Leaf, Kangaroo, Krugerrand silver, Philharmonic — centre on the 1oz format, giving UK investors a wide choice within the most liquid weight bracket.

What to compare at 1oz

Premium per coin is the headline number, but resale spread matters at least as much. A £2 lower buy price means little if the same dealer's buyback is £3 lower than competitors. For investors building positions, looking at both sides of the spread — what each dealer charges to buy and what they offer on sell-back — gives the truer picture of long-run cost.

Tax position at 1oz

All silver bullion in the UK carries 20% VAT on purchase regardless of format. CGT exemption applies only to UK legal-tender silver coins — principally silver Britannias. Foreign 1oz silver coins (Eagles, Maples) and 1oz silver rounds remain subject to CGT on disposal.
